Community Champions & ESEA unseen present: Stitch Social

Brought to you by the Community Champions project, ESEA unseen will be hosting 4 community events where participants are invited to get together and sew a fabric textile “poster” celebrating what Kilburn means to you. This can be a favourite place to socialise, space to do sports in, or people and objects that remind you of home. Workshops are stand-alone for quick ideas, or attendees can work on the same piece over several sessions to build up more complex designs. Our intent is that attendees:

  • Learn basic hand sewing skills
  • Understand composition, colour, and design
  • Inspire each other’s confidence, pride, and agency in creating own artwork
  • Can be in an inclusive place to socialise and make new friends in the area
  • Encourage well-being through connection
  • Foster curiosity, imagination, and hope

Basic skills will be shared. Materials and light refreshments provided.
